The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering was established during the year 2001.The College is approved by AICTE New Delhi, ISO certified, NBA accredited The Department of ECE offers a UG programme in Electronics and Communication Engineering and a PG programme in ME-VLSI with highly qualified and competent faculty members. The main aim of the department is to empower the students to improve knowledge and generate ideas in their chosen field through updated curriculum and the state of art laboratories. We are dedicated in developing the ability among students to analyze, design, experiment, simulate and evaluate the performance in Electronics and Communication Engineering. The Department through its professional bodies IETE, ISTE, IET, IE (India) periodically conducts Guest lectures, Industrial visits, Symposiums, Seminars, and Design Contests etc. for the benefit of students.  We also provide an environment to the students to upgrade their knowledge to meet the career objectives and industrial needs so as to pursue excellence and lifelong learning.

   SKR-NI Lab VIEW ACADEMY:

  • LabVIEW (Laboratory Virtual Instruments Engineering Work bench) is a systems design platform and development environment for a visual programming language form national instruments
  • SKR Engineering College has signed MOU with National Instruments (India) to start LabVIEW Academy under Industry Academic partnership
  • LabVIEW Academy is for anyone seeking LabVIEW education and knowledge through an academic institution.
  • The LabVIEW Academy curriculum gives students the opportunity to validate their knowledge and skills at a professional level with certification
  • More than 75 students of ECE department participated in that examination.
  • This certification provides new opportunities for employment; inspire confidence in their technical skills, leading to more promotions

LAB VIEW RESEARCH CENTRE:

This lab is equipped with FPGA kits, MENTOR Graphics and TANNER software. This software is used for integrated circuit design, verification and simulation. High complex system designs are driving the usage of programmable logic circuits to decrease the no. of components and to reduce board complexity. FPGA Cyclone II and its accessories are used to develop FPGA clock distribution control to reduce number of I /Os. Students will able to optimize a VLSI circuit using precision synthesis. Able to interface mentor graphics with any FPGA providers and makes it user friendly

This lab is equipped with EDU-ARM and LPC2148 based ARM7 trainer, LabVIEW RIO evaluation kit, NI my DAQ, NI sb RIO inverter GPIC evaluation, Robotic kit.The Department of ECE has established Embedded Systems lab with the support of National Instruments using Lab view. This lab focuses on virtual instruments & Lab VIEW using these facilities helps students of ECE to take up academic and research oriented projects using NI tools.

This lab is equipped with DSP starter kit with code composer studio, Image daughter card with LCD display, logic analyzer and digital storage scope. Logic analyzer is an important tool for debugging software, especially in embedded imaging system, to capture data or events to measure individual instruction times. Logic analyzer includes inbuilt dissemblers and compiler for source level debugging and performance analysis. These equipments are used to carry out new experiments based on speech processing, image and neural signal analysis. Applications are developed in DSP Starter Kits using software usually referred as an Integrated Development Environment
